The Law Alumni Association (LAA) Annual Fall Lecture was held on November 14, 2012, and brought together several leading sports, business, law and media experts to debate issues and questions of regulation currently facing the world of college athletics. The panel, moderated by Professor Arthur R. Miller, examined the various oversight roles played by the NCAA, the university, athletic departments, the media, alumni-boosters, and the law and why we should care about who actually is in charge.

The panelists included LaVar Arrington, former Penn State University football player and former Washington Redskins and New York Giants professional football player; Dana Jacobson, former sports anchorwoman for ESPN; David Jones, sports columnist for The Patriot-News; Joseph Nocera, business columnist for The New York Times; Leonard Wilf (LL.M. ’77), owner and vice chairman of the Minnesota Vikings; Fred Wilpon, chairman and CEO of the New York Mets; Dr. Connee Zotos, clinical associate professor of sports management at the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management at New York University.
