Lance Armstrong’s Latest Defense – The Government Knew

In response to a lawsuit brought by former Tour de France winner Floyd Landis and the US Department of Justice, sources contend that Lance Armstrong may employ an entirely new defense. It is speculated that Armstrong may argue that the government’s claim is too old to pursue. The rationale behind this theory is that the US government knew or should have known about Armstrong’s drug use. With ample information available to put the government on notice of Armstrong’s drug use years ago, Armstrong will argue the claim is no longer valid for the six year statute of limitations on fraud has passed.
